It’s December 31st, 2015 and tomorrow is new year’s, a new beginning. This is the time of year where #newyearnewme starts to trend. But why is it that so many people wait for the new year to change? Every morning is a new beginning.
Every year I think about what I want to improve on and I always make a list of resolutions. And guess what? I always break them. So, this year I didn’t rewrite a list of resolutions that I write every year and forget about by valentines day. This year I wrote inspiration for the new year. Since, I am still somewhat a recent graduate and am still very early into my career i think it fits in perfectly.
Be more open to trying new things, be more adventurous
Ever since I was very young I’ve always liked routines. I like going to restaurants and always ordering the same delicious entree, I like going to Starbucks and ordering my usual drink. When I go shopping I usually always end up purchasing somewhat similar clothes (hint: mostly navy). I always order the same entree and buy similar clothes not because i’m boring but because I worry that I won’t like it, but then I started thinking about what if I end up loving something more than my regular?
This year I will be more open minded into trying new dishes, new music, new clothes, new opportunities, saying yes more and stepping out of my comfort zone.
