It is officially summer in Austin- which means it’s time for iced lavender lattes and breezy summer dresses. This summer, I am smiling a lot more than usual because of Smile Brilliant.
Growing up- my smile has always been something that I have been self-conscious about and I have made a habit of smiling with my mouth closed me so when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their at-home teeth whitening kit, I gladly agreed and was so happy to brighten my smile.
How it works:
The process to brighten my teeth was pretty simple but it was definitely a commitment. First, Smile Brilliant sent me a molding kit along with a few whitening gel syringes. I created an impression of my teeth using paste and I mailed back my impressions. A few days later, Smile Brilliant mailed me a custom tray that perfectly fit my teeth.
Every other night before going to sleep I filled my tray with 1/3 whitening gel and wore it for 1-2 hours. The whitening gel works by opening up the pores of your teeth and lift stains. This process can sometimes cause some sensitivity- especially if your teeth are already sensitive, like my teeth. So, Smile Brilliant sent me desensitizing gel with my kit, which I would wear in my tray after wearing the whitening gel and it really helped with any sensitivity.
The entire process to whiten my teeth took a few weeks to complete and I noticed a pretty big difference in the whiteness of my teeth since then I have noticed myself smiling a lot more (with teeth!).

Something else that really makes me smile is trying a new coffee shop on the weekend- I actually have a running list of places to visit on my phone. This past weekend, my friend, Liz- who took all of these cute pictures and I visited Tiny’s Milk and Cookies. We fell in love with their delicious cookies and honey lavender lattes from their walk-up coffee shop.
Here’s to smiling a lot more. Happy Summer!
