Aloha,
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited by my mom to accompany her on a company trip to Maui, Hawaii! As with any trip, I started researching Maui’s Must-Dos and quickly compiled a huge list, I narrowed it down the most favorite/most realistic and I’m so happy that we got to do everything on my wish list. Maui is a complete dream! I am beyond grateful my mom for inviting me and I truly hope that one day I can go back (maybe retire there). Although I was only there for 5 days I felt completely at peace, grateful to be alive and excited to wake up every morning to see the sunrise.
We stayed at Hyatt Beach Kaanapali, which was such a beautiful hotel inside the Kaanapali resorts, which honestly feels v touristy. Below are a small travel diary of what we did, ate, and fell in love with: I also wrote separate blog posts for my favorite adventures, the road to Hana, watching the sunrise, and snorkeling in Kaanapali Beach.
Lahaina, Maui
On our first day in Maui, we strolled the streets of Lahaina, a 10 min drive from Kaanapali. Front street ,which is located along the coast is filled with Unique Hawaiian boutiques and shops, a great spot to fill up on souvenirs. I stocked up on souvenirs from the Honolulu Cookie Co, because after having a sample, I couldn’t resist. I also could not resist getting a Dole Whip, I’m happy to report that it tastes just like the Dole Whips from Disney!
Island Wear
We had originally planned to head to the beach after Lahaina, so I wore my Asos swimsuit with shorts and a cover-up but we ran out of time before we had to get ready for dinner.
Whale Watching
Humpback whales are amazing! We seriously had such an amazing time whale watching. We watched (and followed) a group of around 6 whales. According to the marine biologist, the five males were trying to conquer the one female’s heart since its mating season and they will travel to Alaska to give birth. Fun Fact: Male whales sing to the female whale in order to win her heart but they all sing the exact same tune. I wish we could have been able to hear the whale’s singing.
Cafe Cafe
We mainly had breakfast at the hotel since it was included in our stay but after whale watching, we passed by this cute open-air coffee shop and decided to have breakfast here, I enjoyed an acai bowl and a Hawaiian latte! So amazing!
