After an adventure filled day driving the road to hana my mom and I woke up energized after a refreshing night sleep and ready to enjoy our last full day in Hawaii. We woke up early enough to catch the sunrise and walk alongside the beach. With pink and blue skies, an almost empty beach and the quiet sounds of waves hitting the shore I felt alive and oh so grateful for natures beautiful creations.
After eating breakfast at the hotel, we drove upcountry to find the famous heart-shaped rock near the Nakalele Blowhole. I had imagined the rock to be very close the road, however, we had to hike down somewhat steep rocks for about 15 minutes and although I had read advice not to wear sandals…I wore sandals. (facepalm).
The heart shaped rock was much smaller than I expected but the drive and the views were definitely worth it.
