Visiting the Magnolia Silos have been on my bucket list ever since I moved to Austin since Waco is only an hour and a half away. While my little sister was visiting for New Years, I asked (read: forced) to go with me. I was finally able to cross it off my list on the last weekend of 2018 and had such a great experience! If you’re planning a visit to Magnolia Silos, here are some tips to make the most of your trip.
Check in to Magnolia Table, before visiting the Magnolia Silos.
Magnolia Table, Chip and Joanna’s newest restaurant is very popular especially on the weekends and is about 2 miles away from the Magnolia Silos. It is open from 6am to 3pm, I would recommend getting there as soon as possible, but after 9 am the wait time tends to be up to 4 hours.
We visited on a Saturday, left Austin at 8:30 am and checked in to Magnolia Table at 10 am, by then the wait time was 2 hours, however, you can leave the restaurant- visit the silos then come back right before
Note: Make sure to get to the magnolia table as early as possible once the wait time reaches 4 hours they stop adding names to the wait line.
Get there early to avoid the crowds
After checking in to magnolia table, we immediately headed to the Silos around 10:30am and there was already a crowd and a significant line around the bakery. However, with the crowd every corner of the Silos is thoughtfully decorated and oh so aesthetically pleasing.
View magnolia’s market online shop before visiting.
Magnolia’s market was very crowded and busy, that I wish I would have seen all of my options before visting to make the most of the visit. However, I bought this really cute small market tote as a nice souvenir and to take to farmers markets.
Magnolia Table is worth the wait
If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, you will love the food at Magnolia Table! We tried the pancake breakfast (eggs, hash browns, sausage or bacon, and a short stack), the eggs Benedict and the Lemon- Lavender Donut holes and were very impressed and satisfied. Everything from the decor to the customer service was so wonderful!
The silos are puppy and kids friendly
If you’re planning on visiting the Silos during a warm day the lawn is a perfect place to sit and play. There are also a lot of food trucks to grab a bite or a pastry at the bakery and enjoy a sunny day.
If you’re planning on visiting Magnolia Silos, I’d love to hear about your experience.
